Hummus

 

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz.) of organic garbanzo beans (chick peas)
  • 2 cloves of organic garlic, minced (you can always use more)
  • 2 tablespoon organic tahini
  • Juice from 1 organic lemon
  • 2 tablespoon organic extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon organic flax seed oil
  • ½ teaspoon organic cumin
  • ½ teaspoon organic ground cayanne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon celtic sea salt

Directions

In a food processor, puree the chickpeas, red peppers, lemon juice, tahini, garlic, cumin, cayenne, and salt.

Process, using long pulses, until the mixture is fairly smooth, and slightly fluffy. Make sure to scrape the mixture off the sides of the food processor or blender in between pulses.

Transfer to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. (The hummus can be made up to 3 days ahead and refrigerated. Return to room temperature before serving.)

Serve in a bowl with fresh vegetables. This would also be a great snack to have while watching the Super Bowl.
